Hailo applying for a PH Licence?
It's been alleged by LCDC on their twitter page, that Russel Hall of Hailo, has applied for a PH operators licence.

Are Hailo thinking of switching over to PH work for a better return on their investment?
So far Hailo have neither confirmed or denied the allegation.

We will have to wait for an official announcement on their blog or web page.

It seems Grant Davis Chaiman of LCDC,has already made his mind up.

His statement on twitter has now encouraged a flurry of drivers to delete the Hailo app from their phones.

Could Hailo's move be the result of panic by the investors, after TfL refuse to enforce the statutory legislation as the global multi-billion dollar company Uber starts sweeping across the UK.

MASS UNITED TRADE PROTEST.
There is to be a mass protest on June 11th after years of mismanagement from Taxis and Private Hire licensing authority TfL.

Recently, Steve McNamara, general vice secretary of the LTDA said:
"The taxi trade's current concern and the main reason for the planned demonstration, is not the competition that minicabs pose, we have been competing with minicabs for more than 40 years. It is a complete collapse of TfL's normally stringent licensing enforcement against a new breed of minicab at providers.

This kowtowing by TfL in the face of heavy funded operators is not acceptable."

For the first time ever in the history of Taxis and Private hire, both tiers of the industry have started singing from the same hymn book.

This statement from Steve Wright MBE, chairman,  The Licensed Private Hire Car Association:

"The licensing of minicabs has given Londoners a two-tiered system with a fabulous choice of 25,000 taxes or some 60,000 licensed private hire vehicles.

You cannot have a third tier of "App only based" providers arrogantly disrupting the marketplace.

With another black cab strike scheduled for June 11, for the first time the private hire industry is seriously considering joining the protest."

Feeling are running high and this could be the biggest Taxi (and Private Hire) protest ever seen in the London. We have been informed that the protest may well be join by Taxi drivers from a cross Europe.
