Draft Euston Area Plan – We need your views

Consultation between 29th July and 7th October 2013

We want your views on the draft Euston Area Plan. We are consulting on a draft version of the plan and its draft Sustainability Appraisal until 5pm on 7th October 2013.

The draft Euston Area Plan, draft sustainability appraisal and living draft of the background report are available by clicking on the links below. The plan seeks to ensure that whether or not the new High Speed Rail link (HS2) goes ahead, despite Camden Council’s strong opposition to HS2, we can get the best possible future for residents, businesses and visitors to Euston. We need your views on the proposals for the Euston area shown in the draft Euston Area Plan and you can also comment on the Draft Sustainability Appraisal.

What next?

The Euston Area Plan team will take into account the comments made on the draft Euston Area Plan before producing a revised version of the EAP known as the Pre Submission draft EAP. This will be published at the end of 2013 for further comment ahead of submission for independent examination by a planning inspector. It is anticipated that this examination would take place in mid 2014.

What consultation has there been before?

We previously consulted on the Euston Area Plan between 5th November and 14th December. We asked for your views on the initial objectives and asked what uses you would like to see above a redeveloped station, as part of the HS2 project, if it goes ahead despite Camden Council’s strong opposition, or as part of the redevelopment of the station on the existing footprint. We received many useful comments  (see Stage 1 report below) which highlighted general support for the objectives and which have been used to inform the draft Euston Area Plan published now. We also held an initial stakeholder workshop, details of which can be found below.
